What is wandsworth prison like?

Firstly, Wandsworth Prison is very overpopulated, the prison is in poor condition and cells which were originally made for one, currently housing 2 inmates.

Secondly, due to gang mentality and the prison being in the London area causes a lot of issues with Rival Gangs clashing inside prison.

Thirdly, The prison is rife with contraband either smuggled in by prisoners or officers who are looking to make money from highly inflated prices for items such as phones, food, electronic equipment, drugs and tobacco.

As as example, a small Zanco mobile phone which is the size of a thumb usually costs around £50 outside prison. These trade hands for around £300-500 inside prison due to the savings of prison calls and also the ability to text or call anyone and not just preapproved numbers.
